Open Space

Open Space – outputs from the SRIP session on 1st November 2023

The session was facilitated by Thomas Fisher and Theona Morrison, CoDel, and supported by Sheena Boyd and Brendan O’Hanrahan, SRA.

Participants had the opportunity to share topics that they felt were not being adequately covered in the rest of SRIP’s programme (we called this space ‘Speakers Corner’).

A quieter circle was available to those who were not necessarily passionate about one particular issue, but felt they might not have the answers in these times full of uncertainty.

Twelve key topics emerged from the two spaces: sustainable living; circular economy; renewable energy; safe, resilient & sustainable community spaces; long-term change; tourism; history & heritage in cross-generational discussions; veterans; kindness; democracy & democratic deficit; the Peripatetic Parliament; decentralisation; independence for the islands.
