Water & Waste Water

Water & Waste Water – outputs from the SRIP session on 1st November 2023

Curated by Dr Elizabeth Lawson, Newcastle University, and Consumer Scotland, this session considered how to improve the management of existing decentralised technologies in rural Scotland, and required changes to governance structures to enable implementation of new technologies. Dr Jill Robbie, Dr Jen Roberts, Dr Laura Major and Prof Bill Sloan assisted with the facilitation of this session.

Following the SRIP, on the 30th January 2024, Dr Elizabeth Lawson curated an online session on Water and Wastewater as part of the Scottish Rural and Islands Parliament (SRIP) online programme.

The event was attended by over 40 individuals and organisations from across Scotland, and included a presentation from the Tighnabruaich Primary School and a Q&A session from the Scottish Government Water Policy team. Points raised in the discussion section of the session will be used to inform the SRIP’s response to the current Water, Wastewater and Drainage consultation.

SRA worked with Newcastle University and Kyles Coastal Community to submit evidence to the Scot Gov Water, Wastewater and Drainage consultation and to amplify the Jobby Free Sea campaign. Water, Wastewater & Drainage Consultation
