Enterprise: access & progression routes

Enterprise: access & progression routes – outputs from the SRIP session on 1st November 2023

This session was curated by InspirAlba and GrowBiz Scotland, and included two short films to stimulate discussion, the first focusing on access and progression routes, particularly for young people in the rural economy. The workshop that followed enabled participants to bring their own experience of what assists young people’s access and progression in the rural economy, and what could be improved to stimulate and support access and progression routes.

The second film focused on equalities in the rural economy, with a particular focus on women from different backgrounds and abilities, who work in different functions across all sectors.

The workshop explored what contributes positively to support equalities in the rural economy and what could further support equalities.

Outputs were presented to the Cross-party Group on Women in Enterprise and will feed into initiatives including the new Social Enterprise Action Plan, NSET implementation, and outputs of the Whithers’ review including a new Skills Action Plan for Rural Scotland.
